I am so excited to announce that our chicks have finally hatched and are ADORABLE! I was worried that I wouldn't be able to see them before we took off for the states. I prayed that I would at least see one chick hatch, but God answered above and beyond what I hoped for. So far 7 have hatched since this morning and there is one left that is still good to hatch. We only have one yellow chick and the rest are dark browns and blacks. Two have really cool markings. Moka is doing great and is a very protective mama. She doesn't like us around her chicks, but we are planning to get them used to being handled by us.
Enjoy the pictures! I will try to post more tomorrow, but we are getting ready for our trip back to the states for a couple weeks.
Moka gets pretty ruffled if we bother her and the chicks. Look at those cool markings!
Don't mess with me and my babes! See the evil gleam in her eye?
Chilling out...
More to come tomorrow hopefully! I am soaking their homemade feed tonight in water and raw apple cider vinegar to make it easy for them to digest. I will also be mixing fine coconut flakes and raw garlic in the feed to protect them from sickness. I put out some water with apple cider vinegar and kefir for them tonight.
Do you have any other suggestions on raising chicks naturally?
